SearchScene's underlying search results mainly come from Microsoft Bing. This includes our web search results, as well as our image, video and news search results.
We then enhance the search results we get from Bing with our own algorithms, which we use to build advanced knowledge panels and instant answers.
Knowledge panels are the panels of data that you normally find to the right-hand side of your search results (on desktop) and above your search results (on mobile devices). Our knowledge panels are equivalent to those of Google and Bing's and contain lots more information on people, places, events, objects, movies, actors, music artists, books, authors, hotels, restaurants, visitor attractions and so on. These are built using various APIs and cached on our servers.
Unlike Google and Bing, our knowledge panels are subdivided into tabs, allowing you to access lots more data without having to perform another search. For example, search for the movie "Avengers Endgame" on SearchScene and, apart from the main "Overview" tab, you will also find tabs for "Summary", "Trailers", "Cast", "Reviews" and "Similar" movies at the top of the knowledge panel. Not even Google and Bing provide this much information without you having to run another search. Check it out for yourself here...

Our instant answers include weather data (in the best looking weather widget we've seen on any search engine), a calculator, and answers to various burning questions, such as "How old is Donald Trump?", "Who is Chris Hemsworth's wife?", "What is Jeff Besoz's net worth?", and so on. Check out the weather in London here...

Our aim is to give you the same search experience that you get on Google or Bing in order to give you a seamless transition when switching from Google or Bing to SearchScene. We are definitely getting there!
